Kashmera Shah Backs Sunita Ahuja After Emotional Breakdown on Lock Upp 2: ‘You Are Not Alone’
Family drama in showbiz is rarely simple, but it looks like the newly repaired bond between Kashmera Shah and her aunt, Sunita Ahuja, is holding up strong.
Sunita, who is currently navigating the intense environment of reality show Lock Upp Season 2, recently hit a breaking point. The trigger? A serving of extremely poor quality food that left her visibly shattered on camera.
Seeing her Mami in distress, actress Kashmera Shah wasted no time in publicly rallying behind her. Taking to social media, Kashmera shared a photo of the two embracing, accompanied by a fierce message of solidarity.
“Be strong Mami. You are not alone. We are all with you,” Kashmera wrote, urging Sunita not to let anyone bring her down. “Your devil’s angel is here to protect you and I promise I will not let anyone put you down or make you cry.”
Kashmera also encouraged Sunita to stop holding back, advising her to “give whoever is giving you hell back” and stick it out to the end.
Dealing with the Ghost of Past Rumors
Food wasn’t the only thing testing Sunita’s resolve on the show. Ever since she entered the Lock Upp house, her marriage to Bollywood superstar Govinda has been a frequent talking point.
In a candid chat with fellow contestant Shreya Kalra, Sunita opened up about how she handles long-standing rumors of her husband’s alleged extramarital affairs. Rather than letting the stress consume her, Sunita revealed she chooses to focus on her children and her own health.
“If it happened, what can I do now? It has been there since the beginning, right? He is a hero, so you can’t say anything,” Sunita shared in Hindi. She added practically that dwelling on it at this stage in her life would only worsen her diabetes.
When Shreya asked if she still feels sad or if she believes the infidelity continues, Sunita shrugged off the anxiety. “Can you stop anyone? Should I sit in front of him 24 hours a day? The other person will also get irritated. I simply don’t think about it.“
From a 14-Year Feud to Fierce Protectors
This public display of support is a massive milestone for the family, considering Kashmera and Sunita only recently ended a bitter 14-year public feud.
The emotional icebreaker happened just weeks ago on the sets of the cooking reality show Celebrity Laughter Chefs, where Kashmera and her husband, Krushna Abhishek, were competing. Sunita made a surprise appearance on the show, leading to a highly emotional reunion.
Krushna was reduced to tears, even bowing down to apologize to his aunt for the years of estrangement. Sunita warmly forgave him, noting that he is like her own son and it was time to move forward. Kashmera also broke down during the episode, offering a heartfelt apology for past misunderstandings.
Now that the dust has settled on their old rivalry, it is clear that Kashmera is fully committed to standing by Sunita as she faces the pressures of reality TV.
