Shilpa Shinde opens up on Lock Upp: “My family threw me out at 11 PM”
Shilpa Shinde got deeply personal in a recent episode of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, sharing a painful chapter from her life that left viewers stunned.
During a task in the show, the actor was pushed to reveal a secret that could put her at risk ahead of the finale week. What followed was an emotional confession about her strained relationship with her family.
Shilpa said she often feels like an orphan, even though her family is still around. She revealed that her own family disowned her and forced her out of her Mumbai home late at night.
“People talk about family. Some don’t have one, and even though I do, I feel like an orphan,” she said, holding back tears.
The actor recalled a disturbing incident from three years ago. Just five days after undergoing shoulder surgery, she was asked to leave her home at 11 PM. According to her, her brother’s actions were influenced by his wife, while her mother supported him.
She explained that her self-respect became a point of conflict. “They knew I have strong self-esteem. Situations were created that led me to leave,” she shared, adding that she often felt undervalued in her own home despite trying her best.
Speaking about her life now, Shilpa said she has stepped away from Mumbai and lives in Karjat. When work brings her back to the city, she avoids staying with her family and instead checks into hotels or other accommodations. She admitted to making excuses when people ask why she doesn’t go home.
In a striking moment, she revealed that she has cut emotional ties completely. “I’ve clearly written in my will that I have no connection with them,” she said. She added that her reason for being on the show goes beyond fame or money. “I don’t want a home for myself. I want to build a refuge home,” she shared.
