Foxconn Eyes Massive 300-Acre Land in Greater Noida for Mega Manufacturing Hub – Could Surpass Bengaluru Facility!

Lucknow: In a major move that could reshape India’s electronics manufacturing landscape, Taiwanese tech giant Foxconn is reportedly exploring a 300-acre land parcel along the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The proposed facility is poised to become one of Foxconn’s largest manufacturing hubs globally—and potentially the company’s biggest unit in India.

If finalized, this will be Foxconn’s first major manufacturing facility in North India, significantly expanding its footprint beyond current operations in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. Sources suggest that this unit might even outscale Foxconn’s under-construction facility in Bengaluru, which is expected to be its second-largest worldwide.

While the specific product lines to be manufactured at the Greater Noida site are yet to be confirmed, discussions with the Uttar Pradesh government are currently underway. A senior official from the central government also verified that preliminary talks have started to set up a full-fledged electronics manufacturing services (EMS) unit in the state.

This development comes on the heels of another significant Foxconn-related project in Uttar Pradesh: the HCL-Foxconn joint venture for an outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) plant, which is awaiting final approval. The newly scouted land is reportedly adjacent to a 50-acre plot already secured for the OSAT facility.

Foxconn, the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer and Apple’s top vendor, appears to be shifting strategic focus. Reports indicate the company is planning to scale down operations in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, as it strengthens its base in North India.

The location under consideration is strategically placed along the Yamuna Expressway, a fast-developing industrial corridor managed by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). The expressway not only connects Noida and Greater Noida to Agra but also links the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar to the National Capital Region (NCR), making it a prime spot for industrial expansion.

Stay tuned for more updates as Foxconn continues negotiations and reveals further details about this mega project.
