New Delhi: In yet another shocker, TikTok sensation Siya Kakkar has committed suicide. Delhi police has begun investigating the case and her phone has been seized.
Siya Kakkar, 16, passed away at her residence in New Delhi on June 25.
Delhi police is still trying to unlock her phone to find out the traces behind her death. They are planning to take help of her family to unlock it so that they can access her call records.
Siya kept locked inside her house during the entire Coronavirus lockdown and had been filming her TikTok videos at there only. Although her school is closed, cops have planned to question some of the authorities there and her friends to get some clue behind the suicide.
Delhi police, however, has confirmed that Siya was suffering from depression for the past four days.
Delhi DCP, after the initial probe, confirmed that no suicide note was recovered from the suicide spot. Her postmortem has been done.
“Siya died by suicide at her residence in New Delhi at around 9 pm on June 25. She lived with her family. Her family is in shock and has requested privacy. No suicide note has been recovered,” the DCP said.
Siya’s manager Arjun Sarin confirmed the news of her death on Thursday. “This must be due to something personal…workwise she was doing well. I had a word with her last night for a new project and she sounded normal. My company, Fame Experts, and I manage lots of artists and Siya was a bright talent,” Arjun said.
Siya Kakkar had more than a lakh follower on Instagram and over 11 lakh followers on TikTok. She uploaded her last dance video just 20 hours before she died.
