Tabu Once Blamed Ajay Devgn for Staying Single: "He Scared Off All the Boys"

Tabu remains one of Bollywood’s most talented actresses, captivating fans with intense roles in movies like Maqbool and lighter fare in comedies. At 54, she’s built a stellar career, but her personal life, especially never tying the knot, has always sparked curiosity.

In a past chat with Mumbai Mirror, Tabu pointed the finger at her longtime friend and co-star Ajay Devgn for her solo status, all in good fun. She recalled how, back in her younger days, Ajay and her cousin Sameer Arya acted like overprotective guardians.

“Ajay and I go way back 25 years,” she explained. “He lived next to my cousin Sameer, and they were thick as thieves during my growing-up phase. Those two would tail me everywhere, spying and warning off any guy who dared talk to me. They were total bullies. If I’m single now, it’s all Ajay’s fault,” she laughed.

Tabu didn’t stop there. “I hope he feels bad about it someday,” she added with a grin. She even teased him recently by saying, “Hey, find me a guy to marry already.”

The pair kicked off their on-screen chemistry in Vijaypath and went on to team up in hits like Haqeeqat, Drishyam, and Golmaal Again. Off-screen, their bond is rock-solid. “Among leading men, Ajay’s the one I trust completely,” Tabu shared. “He’s childlike yet fiercely protective. Sets with him feel relaxed, and we have this effortless, genuine connection.”

It’s stories like this that make their friendship one of Bollywood’s best-kept charms.
