Sharvari Opens Up About Reinvention, Risk-Taking and Her Career in Grazia India’s Latest Issue
Sharvari is steadily building a reputation as one of the most interesting young actors in Hindi cinema. From making her debut with Bunty Aur Babli 2 to the success of Munjya, her acclaimed work in Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga and her upcoming role in Yash Raj Films’ action thriller Alpha alongside Alia Bhatt, the actor has continued to explore different sides of her craft.
Now appearing on the cover of Grazia India’s August-September 2026 issue, Sharvari talks about her career, her relationship with cinema, the importance of taking risks and how her approach to acting has changed over the years.
Sharvari on Choosing Different Roles
Sharvari says she understood early in her career that versatility would be important if she wanted to build a long-term place in the industry.
“Early on in my career, I realised that I needed to be versatile for my survival in the industry, especially by not boxing myself into a particular genre.”
That approach has reflected in her choice of projects. Rather than staying within one particular type of role, she has continued to experiment with different characters and genres.
Cinema Has Become a Major Part of Her Life
For Sharvari, acting is more than just a profession. She describes herself as deeply involved in her work and says cinema occupies much of her everyday thinking.
“I love being consumed by my work, and I am obsessed with it. I constantly think about it 24/7. It’s what keeps me alive.”
Her comments reflect the intensity with which she approaches acting and the amount of attention she gives to her craft.
Stepping Into the World of Alpha
Working on Alpha brought a different set of challenges for the actor. While the physical demands of the action film were significant, Sharvari says adapting mentally to its scale and intensity was an even bigger challenge.
“Alpha was a physically demanding film, but I think a bigger challenge was mentally stepping into a world that was so new to me.”
She adds that the film pushed her to challenge herself on a daily basis.
Her Belief in the Theatrical Experience
Sharvari also shared her thoughts on audiences and the relationship between filmmakers and moviegoers. For her, sincerity remains central to making a film that connects with people.
“If you make a good film, with all your heart, people will come to watch it; they will reciprocate ten times more the love it was made with.”
From Working Behind the Camera to Becoming an Actor
Before becoming an actor, Sharvari gained valuable experience behind the camera. She worked as a director’s assistant on films such as Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Bajirao Mastani and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.
Looking back, she considers those years an important part of her journey. She had been auditioning for acting opportunities for years, but the director’s assistant roles allowed her to experience the film industry from a different perspective.
“One of the most enriching experiences of my life has been being the DA on all these films.”
She says she accepted those opportunities because she wanted to understand the industry from the inside and find out whether filmmaking was truly the path she wanted to pursue.
Sharvari Is More Comfortable With Taking Risks
The actor also admits that her mindset has changed since the beginning of her career. Earlier, she was focused on getting everything right. Today, she is more willing to experiment, make mistakes and learn from them.
“I think when I started out, I was very conscious of getting everything right. But today, I’m much more comfortable with taking risks, making mistakes and figuring things out along the way.”
That shift could become an important part of the next phase of Sharvari’s career as she continues to take on increasingly varied roles.
With Alpha adding a major action project to her filmography, Sharvari appears ready to keep pushing herself rather than settling into a predictable path.
