Popular content creator Apoorva Mukhija, widely known online as Rebel Kid, has officially moved to New York City to start an MBA program. Speaking on the Untriggered By AminJaz podcast, she opened up about the move, calling it a much-needed reset after months of intense public scrutiny following her appearance on India’s Got Latent.
Apoorva shared that the constant cycle of online backlash has taken a toll on her mental space and career. The fallout from the February 2025 controversy led to severe online criticism, lost brand deals, and personal threats. She admitted that navigating constant cancellations became exhausting, especially when trying to maintain her income and career as an independent creator.
Her decision to head to New York came naturally after visiting the city. Intrigued by its fast pace, food culture, and architecture, she applied to a single university and secured admission.
Now living in a dorm and stepping back into student life, Apoorva admits the transition comes with mixed emotions. While leaving her established network and routine in India is daunting, she looks forward to stepping outside the creator bubble, focusing on her studies, and building friendships with people from completely different walks of life.
