Mumbai: Actor Saif Ali Khan, who is big time foodie himself, has said that food is life’s one of the greatest pleasures.

Saif Ali Khan was interacting with the media at the launch of Marriott on Wheels on Thursday in Mumbai.

Travelling across six cities, a new food truck—Marriott on Wheels—will journey 6,761kms across the country and serve up dishes inspired by each destination. Kicking off the journey from Mumbai, the truck will reach Ahmedabad on the 7 April and then travel to Amritsar, Lucknow, Madurai, Kochi and Pune.

As a foodie himself, when asked Saif if he was behind the menu then, what are the food items that has to be on the food truck, he said, “In our movie ‘Chef’, we only had only one thing on the food menu which the critics weren’t impressed with but I am sure this food truck will have many more delicious things which I am happy about. I love roadside food also. I eat all kind of things.”

When asked what is his favourite cuisine, he said, “I don’t know.. it’s so hard to say anything. I love Indian food. I also like Chinese food like a lot of Indian people. Apart from that, I like Italian, Japanese and Thai food. I feel food is life’s one of the greatest pleasures.”

Saif Ali Khan played role of a chef in a film titled ‘Chef’ (2017) and apparently, Saif trained under chefs of Marriott hotel to prepare for his in the film, when asked Saif being here sort of bring back memories of filming ‘Chef’ and whether he shares special relationship with Marriott  hotel, he said, “Yes… in fact, we trained all our cooking scenes under chef Himanshu and I just heard that he has been promoted to a very senior position as sort of head chef of all the Marriott hotels which is an amazing thing so, I congratulate him for achieving this feat.”

He added, “It’s been an amazing relationship and Marriott has been very kind to us so, I had to be here today. And the food truck is such a good idea. It will travel to six cities in India which includes north, middle and south regions of our country so, it’s fantastic.”

On work front, Saif Ali khan next will be seen in Netflix’s most awaited web series titled ‘Sacred Games’ season 2 and in historical drama film ‘Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior’ along with Ajay Devgn.
