India Leads Global Dialogue on Digital Safety at Trust & Safety Festival 2025

The Trust & Safety India Festival (TASI) 2025 continued its inspiring run in New Delhi on Day 2, reinforcing India’s role in shaping the global conversation on digital safety, ethical innovation, and inclusive technology. The forum brought together over 200 delegates — from policymakers and tech innovators to academics and digital rights advocates — representing more than 15 nations.

The day featured dynamic sessions, from high-impact panels to collaborative workshops, exploring pressing topics like ethical AI frameworks, support for online safety professionals, and the creation of privacy-first digital ecosystems centered around youth. Experts also tackled issues such as online gender-based violence, women’s digital empowerment, and the ethical implications of AI companions and child influencers.

Speaking at the event, Honourable Bansuri Swaraj, Member of Parliament, emphasized how digital platforms empower women to lead and connect with communities, while also calling for stronger safeguards against online harassment. “It’s reassuring to see robust measures like the DPDP Act and initiatives promoting AI ethics that protect and empower women online,” she noted.

Dr. Ranjana Kumari, Director of the Centre for Social Research and Chairperson of the Alliance for Trust and Safety, praised the festival’s success, saying, “The collaboration among global experts and leaders is shaping real-world solutions for safer, more inclusive online spaces. India’s proactive leadership is inspiring collective action to build a fair digital future for all.”

Prominent voices on Day 2 included Dr. Rabindra Narayan Behera, MP and member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Communications and IT; S. Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Information Technology; Yoel Roth, Head of Trust & Safety, Match Group; Andras Molnar of TUM Think Tank; Manisha Kapoor, CEO of Advertising Standards Council of India; and Dr. Samir Parikh, Fortis Mental Health, among others.

Panelists emphasized cross-sector collaboration, ethical governance, and mental well-being for digital professionals. Through interactive workshops, attendees co-created actionable frameworks for digital citizenship and responsible innovation.

By hosting TASI 2025, India affirmed its leadership as both an innovator and policy driver in global trust and safety, advocating diversity, equity, and ethical technology as the cornerstones of digital transformation.
