Gorakhpur Railway Station Set for ₹509 Cr World-Class Redevelopment: RICPL Leading the Transformation
The Gorakhpur Railway Station, one of India’s busiest rail hubs, is set for a massive transformation under a ₹508.99 crore redevelopment project. Executed in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode by Ramacivil India Construction Pvt Ltd (RICPL), the initiative aims to deliver a world-class passenger experience while blending modern design, sustainability, and cultural heritage.
The project covers an expansive 2,59,749 sqm area, including new buildings, development works, and dismantling of old structures. Commissioned by the North Eastern Railway, Lucknow Gati Shakti Unit, the upgrade focuses on converting the station into a futuristic multi-modal transport hub, ensuring seamless connectivity with other public and private transport systems.
Speaking about the development, Mr. Parveen Gupta, Director of RICPL, said:
“The Gorakhpur Railway Station redevelopment project goes beyond infrastructure upgrade. We are creating a future-ready transit hub designed for safety, comfort, and efficiency. Through engineering excellence and sustainable design, this project will redefine the travel experience while respecting Gorakhpur’s cultural essence and India’s vision of modern railways.”

For passengers, the station will introduce ultra-modern amenities including advanced waiting lounges, retail setups, food kiosks, dedicated rest zones, and special facilities for Divyangjans, ensuring inclusivity for all.
Once completed, Gorakhpur Railway Station will emerge as a civic landmark, setting a benchmark for future railway modernization projects in India—balancing tradition with technology, sustainability with convenience, and heritage with innovation.
