Zakir Khan Roasts Bollywood’s Secret Jealousy Over Dhurandhar’s Epic Win
Everyone’s buzzing about Dhurandhar these days, and it’s not just the insane box office haul. Comedian Zakir Khan stole the show at the Chetak Screen Awards 2026, dropping a savage truth bomb about how Bollywood really feels about the film’s success.
Zakir shared the stage with Alia Bhatt and Sunil Grover. While chatting about Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller franchise, he nailed the industry’s fake praise. “You can post all the congrats you want, fill your stories, call it your favorite in interviews. But let’s be real: Dhurandhar has everyone burning with envy,” he said in Hindi.
He doubled down with a killer line: “The movie shows bomb blasts in Lyari, but the real smoke is rising from Bandra to Juhu.” The crowd’s laughter was polite at best, and clips went viral fast.
Social media lit up. Fans called it “brutal honesty,” with one saying Zakir was “spitting facts.” Others pointed out the awkward silence, hinting the joke hit too close to home.
Dhurandhar keeps crushing it too. The first film from December 2025 pulled in over ₹1300 crore worldwide. Its sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, opened with ₹145 crore and has now topped ₹1500 crore globally. It made history as the first Hindi movie to hit ₹1000 crore net in India.
Ranveer Singh leads as agent Hamza, sneaking into terror groups in Lyari. The cast includes Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, R. Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt. The latest chapter, out March 19, digs into Hamza’s past as Jaskirat Singh Rangi.
What do you think – did Zakir call out the truth, or was it too much?
