Sharvari Speaks Out: From Assistant Director to Starring with Alia Bhatt in YRF’s Groundbreaking Spy Thriller!

Sharvari is making serious waves in Bollywood—and the April 2025 cover of Femina captures just that. Embracing her roots as a true ‘Dadar chi mulgi,’ Sharvari strikes the perfect balance between fierce and grounded, authentic and ambitious. Following the blockbuster success of Munjya, which soared past ₹100 crore at the box office, and her viral dance number Taras, the rising star has cemented her place in the industry. Add to that her critically praised role in Maharaj, and it’s clear: Sharvari is one of the most compelling new talents to watch.

In her exclusive Femina interview, Sharvari opens up about her unconventional path to stardom—from almost becoming a civil engineer to working tirelessly behind the scenes as an Assistant Director on hits like Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Bajirao Mastani, and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.

Recalling the grind, she shares,

“The toughest part of the journey isn’t just bagging your first film – it’s finding your footing before that, proving to yourself that you belong here.”

Her time as an Assistant Director, she explains, was more than just a job—it was her film school.

“It was my way of learning everything I could to eventually become a better actor.”

Sharvari also gets real about the pressure to stay relevant in a highly competitive industry:

“Showcasing different facets of my craft isn’t just about growth – it’s a necessity. Every role, every film has to work for me to sustain myself in this industry.”

When asked about the kind of roles that speak to her, Sharvari says she gravitates toward strong female characters with depth and agency.

“Looking back, all my characters have been women on a mission. I think that’s a reflection of who I am—someone chasing a dream with passion and purpose.”

One of her biggest leaps yet is Alpha, Yash Raj Films’ highly anticipated female-led spy thriller, where she stars alongside Alia Bhatt.

“It’s one of the first action films where two women take center stage as total badasses. It’s thrilling and empowering. More than just high-octane scenes, it delivers a strong message of strength and inspiration for young women.”

With Alpha, Sharvari isn’t just breaking barriers—she’s setting new standards for what women in Bollywood action films can look like. Her journey from the shadows of the set to sharing screen space with one of India’s biggest stars is a testament to talent, tenacity, and the will to rise.
