Bandhan Bank Teams Up with Rohit Shetty for ‘Cyber Cop’ Awareness Campaign
Cyber fraud is a massive headache in India right now, and Bandhan Bank is trying to do something about it. The bank has launched a new nationwide cyber safety campaign called “Cyber Cop” as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives. To help spread the word, they have brought in popular Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty.
If you have watched any of his movies, you know he is famous for his “cop universe,” making him a natural fit to help get people talking about digital safety.
The Scale of the Problem
This campaign comes at a time when digital scams are skyrocketing. According to government data, people reported losses of around ₹22,495 crore through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal in 2025 alone. That is spread across more than 24 lakh complaints in just a single year.
Because these scams are becoming so common, the bank wants to make cyber safety easier for the average person to understand.
Pause, Verify, Report
Instead of overwhelming people with technical jargon, the campaign relies on a simple three-step rule: Pause. Verify. Report.
Through short films, public outreach, and targeted messaging, the initiative reminds everyone to take a second before clicking a link or sending money. If something feels off, verify it. And if you do get scammed, report it immediately.
The campaign actively points citizens toward two official resources for help:
-
The 1930 national helpline number
-
The official National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal
Making Safety a Daily Habit
A spokesperson for Bandhan Bank noted that cyber fraud has quickly become one of the biggest challenges in India’s digital landscape. The goal of this project is to build a culture of caution so people can use digital banking and online services without constantly worrying about being tricked.
By bringing Rohit Shetty on board, the bank hopes to turn a dry, clinical subject into something that connects with everyday citizens, making cyber security a part of daily conversation.
