Delhi Unveils Bold Cinematic Vision at FICCI Frames 2025

The second day of the FICCI Frames Silver Jubilee Edition spotlighted Delhi’s ambitions to become a global cinematic powerhouse, with a high-impact roundtable titled “Made in Delhi: A Creative Capital Rising.” Policymakers, media leaders, and film industry icons gathered to discuss the capital’s growing stature as a hub for storytelling and production.

Chaired by Kapil Mishra, Minister for Art & Culture and Tourism (NCT of Delhi), the session featured stalwarts including filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, actress Divya Dutta, actor Rajat Kapoor, Mahima Kaul of Netflix India, Sabbas Joseph of Wizcraft, Aravamudhan K. from Jiostar, Ashish Kulkarni, Shilangi Mukherjee of Amazon Prime, Uday Singh of MPA, and Prasoon Garg from Applause Entertainment, among others.

The dialogue centered on three themes — Film Policy, Festivals, and the Future of Storytelling — exploring ways to boost content creation and production rooted in Delhi’s unique cultural fabric. Actors Pratik Gandhi and Anil Kapoor also joined the gathering, sharing their on-location experiences in the city.

Kapil Mishra reaffirmed Delhi’s creative vision, stating: “Delhi is not just a city; it’s a canvas of stories ready to be told. With our Film Policy, diverse talent base, and cultural richness, we welcome storytellers from across the world.”

A key announcement was the launch of the Delhi International Film Festival (DIFF), envisioned as a flagship event to showcase talent, form global partnerships, and drive the city’s creative economy.

The roundtable concluded with a shared goal — to transform Delhi from a filming backdrop into a global storytelling capital. As FICCI Frames continues to foster innovation, this event marked a pivotal chapter in shaping the capital’s cinematic future.
