Sydney Sweeney vs Amanda Seyfried in Twisted Thriller The Housemaid – First Intense Trailer Drops

Lionsgate has unveiled the gripping first trailer for The Housemaid, a seductive psychological mystery directed by Paul Feig. Best known for comedies like Bridesmaids and Spy, Feig ventures into chilling new territory with this suspense-driven adaptation of Freida McFadden’s bestselling novel.

Sydney Sweeney stars as Millie, a young woman haunted by her past who accepts a seemingly perfect job as a housemaid for the wealthy Winchesters — Nina (Amanda Seyfried) and Andrew (Brandon Sklenar). What begins as a dream quickly turns sinister, as Millie finds herself caught in a web of secrets, manipulation and deadly mind games.

The trailer teases a slick, tension-filled story brimming with desire, betrayal, and shocking power plays. As cracks appear beneath the Winchesters’ flawless façade, Millie becomes ensnared in a dangerous psychological battle that could either liberate or destroy her.

Joining the cast are Michele Morrone, Elizabeth Perkins, and others, adding even more weight to the darkly glamorous story. Critics are already comparing the film’s style to Gone Girl and The Hand That Rocks the Cradle — sharp, stylish, and unsettling.

Screenwriter Rebecca Sonnenshine (The BoysThe Vampire Diaries) adapts McFadden’s nail-biting novel, bringing its paranoia and slow-burn tension to the big screen.

The Housemaid hits theaters on December 19, 2025, promising one of the most thrilling year-end releases.
