RCB vs PBKS Final: Who Will Lift the IPL 2025 Trophy If Rain Plays Spoilsport?

Noida: The much-anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) is scheduled to take place on June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, dark clouds loom over the blockbuster clash as rain threatens to disrupt the title-deciding game.
Ahmedabad Weather Forecast for June 3
As per weather predictions, there’s around a 62% chance of rain in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. Temperatures are expected to hover between 27°C and 33°C with wind speeds reaching 16 km/h and humidity levels at approximately 45%. While continuous rainfall isn’t expected, scattered showers could cause interruptions throughout the match.
No Reserve Day for IPL 2025 Final
Unlike previous seasons, the BCCI has not designated a reserve day for this year’s final. However, organizers have allowed a two-hour buffer window to get the match completed on the same day. For a result to be declared, at least five overs must be bowled per side.

What If the Match Is Abandoned?
If rain forces a complete washout and not even a shortened game is possible, the IPL 2025 winner will be decided based on league stage standings. In such a scenario, Punjab Kings — who topped the points table under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer — will be crowned champions. RCB, captained by Rajat Patidar, finished second in the league stage and would miss out on their first-ever title.
Either Way, a New Champion Awaits
This final marks a historic occasion as neither RCB nor PBKS has ever lifted the IPL trophy. If rain permits play, fans are guaranteed a thrilling clash with a new champion emerging. But if the weather has its way, Punjab Kings will finally end their title drought.
