Bengaluru: Apple Inc is all set to begin assembling its high-end iPhones here within a month in a bid to strengthen its presence in the Indian market, said Karnataka IT Minister Priyank Kharge on Thursday.
“Apple will start assembling and making its high-end iPhones at its plant in Bengaluru in less than a moth time. Taiwanese contract manufacturer Wistron Corp will help Apple in this regard,” he said.
Kharge further said that this would help Apple to slash the prices of iPhones in the country.
Karnataka government has been interacting with the Centre for firming the ecosystem even as Apple is in negotiations with it for its next level of production in India, he said.
