Mumbai: After unveiling the first look poster, Actor John Abraham shares details about his character from forthcoming movie Batla House, based on the real-life encounter which took place in Indian Capital.
John Abraham wrote, “Encounters: 70, Cases: 33, Convictions: 22, Gallantry Awards: 9, Accusations: 1…When everything you’ve achieved could be wiped out in that one moment. The story of India’s Most Decorated/Controversial Cop”
John is playing the character of DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav who spearheaded the infamous 2008 Batla House Encounter case, which caused quite a controversial scandal for the officer.
Batla House took place almost a decade ago, where a seven-member Special Cell Team barged into a flat in Batla House, Jamia Nagar in search of Atif Bashir, Chief of the Indian Mujahideen who was behind several bomb blasts between 2003 and 2008. What followed was a nail-biting encounter, during which two cops and two suspected terrorists were killed.
The encounter will be seen from three perspectives – that of the police, those present near the location, and the real picture.
After a span of 10 years, actor John Abraham is collaborating with director Nikkhil Advani for Batla House. The film will be shot in real life locations, which includes Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Nepal.
The film releases on 15th August 2019.
