Mumbai: Akshay Kumar, who recently was conferred with the National Award for his iconic movies Airlift and Rustom, took a dig at the controversy over him being given with the prestigious honour.
He slammed his criticisers saying that if someone doesn’t want him to get the award, he was ready to give it away to him or her.
“I have seen this over the past 25 years that whenever someone wins the National Award a debate started which soon turns into a controversy. People start claiming that whether someone should have or shouldn’t have won the award,” the Khiladi Kumar said.
“I have been honoured with the award after 26 years. If someone doesn’t want me to get this award, if you feel like, please go ahead and take it away from me,” he told the media.
Well, this is really disheartening for Akshay Kumar fans as his films had not only won critical acclaim but were also loved by the audiences and this debate is just spoiling the taste of the honour he received for his iconic performances.
